As soon as US President Donald Trump announced that a UFC card would be held on the White House lawn next year, many fighters expressed interest in the event. Among the athletes were two of the biggest names in MMA history: Jon Jones e Conor McGregor. The Ultimate commentator, Michael Bisping, believes that there is a real possibility that the two will return to action and step into the octagon in Washington (USA).

No case of Jon Jones, Bisping assesses the legend's return dependent on a victory by the current heavyweight champion (up to 120,2 kg.) Tom aspinall about Cyryl Gane.

“This will do Jon Jones thinking: 'Wait a minute... I can beat this guy'. If there is a fight, there is a place, for which Jon Jones would come out of retirement… That would be the main fight in the White House. Jon Jones against Tom aspinall, England versus USA, all over again.”, he said Michael Bisping in a public video on your channel.

The commentary of the largest MMA organization in the world evaluated the possibility of Conor McGregor put on the gloves to finally face Chandler.

“In the co-main event, McGregor is already in the thick of it… You know what he said: ‘This is the perfect place to settle the score.’ This fight has obviously been in the works for three or four years. Sure, they’ve taped The Ultimate Fighter… But if there’s one place, if there’s one place, it’s the White House… And of course, facing Michael chandler, which has just been destroyed by Paddy Pimblett… If Conor comes back… I think he would probably win Michael chandler.”, said Bisping

The plan to host one of the UFC events was revealed by Donald Trump last Friday (4) during a speech to supporters in the state of Iowa. According to the President of the United States, the UFC White House would be part of an extensive celebration for the country's 250th anniversary of independence, which will be celebrated on July 4, 2026. Trump is a close friend of Dana White, president of the UFC.

“Does anyone watch UFC? The great Dana White. We’re going to have a UFC event on the White House lawn. We have a lot of land here. Dana is going to do it, he’s great, unique. We’re going to have a UFC event, a title fight, with 20, 25 thousand people. This will also be part of the 250th anniversary celebrations. We’re going to have incredible events. Some professional, some amateur, but the UFC is going to be one of the big ones,” he revealed.

In direct response to Donald Trump's announcement of a UFC event at the White House on July 4, 2026, Conor McGregor moved pieces on social media to position himself as the protagonist of the card. The Irishman shared a digital montage that captures his face-to-face tension with Michael chandler in the presidential gardens, with Trump watching in the background.

“The only place where disputes are truly resolved: the White House,” Conor said, in addition to an AI montage of a staredown with the ‘Iron’.

Jon Jones publicly floated the possibility of coming out of his recently announced retirement for a fight at the White House event.

“Fight in the White House?” Jones wrote on his official Twitter account, along with an ‘eyes’ emoji.

Jon is going through an ambiguous moment in his life. The American announced that he is retired and left the heavyweight belt, which now belongs to Tom aspinall. The fighter, however, was harshly criticized for his stance, including fans and fighters in the organization. He is the youngest champion in history (at 23 years old), has the most title defenses in the light heavyweight division (11) and is undefeated in 20 fights.
