Makhachev points out likely dates to face Della Maddalena for the belt
After just under three years reigning supreme in the lightweight division, Islam makhachev relinquished his belt in the category and announced his move up to welterweight (up to 77,1 kg). Although the fight has not yet been made official by the UFC, the tendency is that the Russian will face the newly crowned champion Jack Della Maddalena for the category belt.

“Let’s see when I’ll fight. Madison Square Garden, Las Vegas or Abu Dhabi. We don’t have a date yet. If it’s not Madison Square Garden, I want to fight in Abu Dhabi. I don’t want to wait,” he concluded.
