On a Saturday (5) without UFC, it was a Brazilian who caught the attention in MMA. With a surgically precise spinning elbow, Gustavo Oliveira knocked out Frenchman Anas Azizoun in the first round and reached the semifinals of PFL Europe, in the bantamweight division (up to 61,2 kg). The moment came in strong as a candidate for 'Knockout of the Year'.

The moment came in the opening round. After some studied exchanges and a calculated rhythm, Gustavo identified the opening. He dodged a blow from Azizoun, spun his entire body and landed a spinning elbow to his opponent's right temple. The impact was so devastating that the Frenchman immediately collapsed.

With the victory, the Brazilian advances to the GP semifinals, where he will face Frenchman Mahio Campanella. The tournament champion will pocket US$ 100 (around R$ 541). The scene went viral instantly. The PFL itself highlighted the video on 'X' (formerly Twitter) and provoked followers by asking if the move had been the 'Knockout of the Year'.

At 28 years old, Gustavo Oliveira has a record of 11 wins and two losses. The fighter, who became a radical fighter in Portugal, has also competed in events such as Karate Combat and KSW.
