Current UFC featherweight champion (up to 65,7 kg) and one of the best fighters in history, Alexander Volkanovsky had the opportunity to face Ilia Topuria e Islam makhachev in major duels in the world's largest MMA organization. In the midst of this reality, the Australian made an interesting revelation when he confessed to having suffered more symptoms linked to concussions after the confrontation with the Russian.

“I feel like I had a bigger concussion in the Islam fight, even though I was out for longer with Ilia. I had a lot more symptoms from that fight. I should have had a longer break (to return to the Octagon),” said the fighter.

Volkanovski's first duel against Makhachev took place in UFC 284, with the lightweight title (up to 70,3 kg) at stake. On that occasion, he ended up losing by unanimous decision in a very balanced fight. In the rematch, he ended up knocked out in the first round after being hit by a strong kick to the head. Against the Georgian/Spanish, he ended up losing the featherweight belt (up to 65,7 kg) after succumbing to El Matador's punches.
