In an interview with 'MMA Fighting,' Teixeira emphasized that this is a chance to make history, ending the Brazilians' losing streak in main event fights. Confident of a knockout, he stated that Brazil needs this result to regain momentum and that the responsibility motivates him to give his all inside the octagon.

"I like it because I'll be remembered as the guy who ended the Brazilian curse. I even joked: 'I'm going to knock out the Derrick Lewis"You guys come talk to me later." I know this will happen.
