In the main fight UFC Nashville, held last Saturday (12), Tallison Teixeira barely had time to put his game into practice and ended up joining the long list of victims of Derrick Lewis. The American landed a devastating cross that knocked the Brazilian down in the first minute, ending the fight in a interruption referee's 'controversy'.

At the post-fight press conference, Lewis revealed that the punch that initiated the knockout was actually an old trick. Fifteen years older than his opponent, the veteran claimed to have used his experience to lure Tallison, and, confident in his knockout power, quickly sealed the fight.

“I was pretending I had something in my eye. I was hoping he'd come closer. He didn't get close enough the first time, so I tried to sell it as if he'd hit me square in the eye. That's what happened. I caught him… I know if I throw anything at someone, no matter what, they'll fall,” he said. Derrick Lewis.

At the moment of the knockout, the Brazilian grabbed the fence to try to get up and appeared to still be conscious during the fight. "Then I realized he was trying to grab the fence. I was like, 'Man, let's go.' He made me hit my own leg. I almost dislocated my leg myself. It was messed up... The referee should have stopped it. He was going in and out before the guy even grabbed the fence," the heavyweight said.

The victory over Tallison Teixeira marked the 20th positive result of Derrick Lewis in the UFC, being the 16th by knockout. At 40 years old, the veteran is the greatest knockout artist in the organization's history, followed by Matt Brown, with 13 knockouts, and Anderson Silva, with 11.
