In an interview on the official UFC program during the official weigh-in, Poirier said he experienced one of the best cuts of his entire career throughout the week.

"It's actually crazy. You figure these things out (making the final cut) at the end. This was the easiest weight cut of my career. I felt great and could have continued dehydrating. I arrived at fight week the lightest I've ever weighed," the fighter said, also confirming that he would have competed at featherweight (up to 65,7 kg) if he could.
