After defending the 'BMF' belt in the fight against Dustin poirier at UFC 318, Max Holloway made direct criticisms of Charles of the Bronx. The Hawaiian won the main fight of last Saturday's event (19), in New Orleans, marked by the 'Diamond's' farewell to the octagon. After the victory, the fighter spoke about possible duels to follow and revisited the fight with the 'Leão Embaçado', which took place in 2015. According to him, the Brazilian lied.

"The ball is in the UFC's court, let's see what they want to do. If they want to go that route, we can go that route... There's also (Charles) Oliveira, I heard he was talking about how our first fight was with injuries. He got injured when we fought," Holloway explained in an interview with 'About Last Fight'.
"But last time I checked, when they did a training session and wanted to find out what the injury was, there was no report on it. They said he was fine. So I have no idea what the hell he's talking about." Max Holloway.
Understand the case
In an interview with the UFC in January, Charles of the Bronx was teased about a possible 'BMF' title rematch against Holloway ten years after their first fight.
"I think Max himself talked about it. We've met before, but I got injured early on, so there was no real fight. I think we deserve this fight to happen," Charles said.
"He's evolved, he's the BMF, the toughest. I'm also very tough, I have several UFC records, so that would be great," said the Brazilian lightweight (up to 70,3 kg).
Max Holloway defeats Dustin Poirier at UFC 318
Max Holloway made history once again at UFC 318. On Saturday night (19), in Louisiana (USA), the Hawaiian successfully defended the symbolic BMF (toughest fighter) belt by defeating Dustin poirier by judges' decision in a true five-round battle. But it was in the final seconds of the fight that the former featherweight champion relived an already iconic moment in his career and, once again, electrified the audience with his boldness.
Just like in UFC 300, when he knocked out Justin gaethje as the clock ran out, Holloway called his opponent back to the center of the octagon in the final moments.
In the final stretch, however, Dustin swayed and hugged his opponent to avoid being knocked out.
