Brazilian uses social media to thank and highlight the honor of fighting against 'Diamante' in the past

Charles of the Bronx used his social networks to pay tribute Dustin poirier after the American's farewell fight, held last Saturday (19), at UFC 318, in New Orleans. On his official X account (former Twitter), the Brazilian thanked his opponent and highlighted the honor of having shared the octagon with him.

“Thank you, Diamante. It was an honor to share the octagon with you and watch you fight,” Charles wrote.

The relationship between Charles of the Bronx e Dustin poirier has always been marked by cordiality and professionalism, even after intense encounters inside the cage.

The height of the respectful rivalry happened in UFC 269, in December 2021, when Charles submitted Poirier in the third round to successfully defend his lightweight belt.

With the same entrance music from that first fight, 'A Milli' by Lil Wayne, the American made his final appearance against Max Holloway, for the main fight of the event.

Despite losing by unanimous decision, "Diamante," as he is known, received applause and recognition for his career. The UFC even released a video featuring his highlights within the company.
