Any type of concern caused by the 'shaking' presented by Paulo borrachinha at the press conference before the UFC 318 was remedied by the Brazilian's great performance in the victory over Roman Kopylov, last Saturday (19). Even so, the middleweight (up to 83,9 kg) from Minas Gerais made a point of minimizing the episode after the fight, stating that it was just about excitement and concentration for the duel, but this version was short-lived.

In a new interview, this time with journalist Ariel Helwani, last Monday (21), Borrachinha credited the 'tremors' not only to the motivation for the fight, but also to some 'injections' that he had applied before the press conference.

"Too much energy, a lot of real power, a real desire to win. You know? I was confident in this victory, and I think it was also the NAD, the vitamin. NAD+. There's a company that sponsors the UFC, and they sent me some vitamin injections. Great injections. I took some injections, and they left me very energized," revealed the Brazilian.

The supplement mentioned by Borrachinha is a hit among celebrities, but raises questions among experts.

Cited by Borrachinha, NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a coenzyme present in all living cells, which plays a crucial role in metabolic processes and cell signaling, and whose levels tend to decline with aging. Coenzyme supplementation aims to restore these levels and has been gaining popularity among celebrities, although experts still question its efficacy and safety.

While big celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Hailey Bieber promote the use of NAD+ and help the market grow exponentially, the indiscriminate use of certain supplements has been restricted in the United States by the Food and Drug Administration, while additional studies are conducted.
