Far from being considered one of the main attractions of the UFC Abu Dhabi, event held this Saturday (26), the fight between featherweights (up to 65,7 kg) Steven Nguyen and Mohammad Yahya not only surprised fans, but also made history for the organization. With a spectacular performance, Nguyen knocked Yahya to the canvas seven times, breaking the UFC knockdown record and disfiguring his opponent's face, forcing a doctor's stoppage between the third and second rounds.

In the first round alone, Steven Nguyen scored five knockdowns on Mohammad Yahya. Fighting at home, the 'UAE Warrior' demonstrated great resilience and quickly got up from every fall, remaining active and seeking victory.

Surprising everyone, in the second round it was the Emirati athlete who knocked Nguyen down with strikes for the first time. The American, however, quickly got back up and took control of the fight, punishing Yahya with a thorough beating and creating a frightening swelling below the home athlete's left eye. He survived two more knockdowns and survived until the end of the second round, but was prevented from continuing the fight by the event doctor.
