Reinier de Ridder was thrilled after winning the main event at UFC Abu Dhabi , which took place last Saturday (21). The Dutchman, who beat Robert Whittaker by split decision, asked to fight for the middleweight title (up to 83,9kg) in his next appearance and wants to face the winner of Dricus du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev.
“I want to stop my opponents in the first round. Maybe Dricus (du Plessis) will be next. Give me a chance to fight for the title. I was hoping I could take him down ( Robert Whittaker ) and finish the fight, but he’s very tough, very resilient,” de Ridder said in an interview still in the octagon.
