Known for his controversial statements, Bryce mitchell caused controversy again after his victory in the UFC Abu Dhabi, last Saturday (26). In an interview given after the event, the fighter was asked about his beliefs involving the Flat Earth theory, maintained his conspiratorial speech and cited Antarctica as the supposed 'edge of the world'.
"Well, there's this ice wall, and it's called Antarctica, and you can't go there. Like, in the 1940s or 1950s, we made a treaty about Antarctica that made it illegal to travel there, so what's beyond this ice wall? I have no idea. It's illegal. But, man, believe me, I'd be the first person to go down there if they made it legal," Mitchell said, visibly excited about the topic.

Despite the comment, Bryce mitchell lived a good sporting moment in UFC Abu Dhabi. In his debut in the bantamweight division (up to 61,2 kg), he won Said Nurmagomedov by unanimous decision after a fight marked by a turnaround.
Nurmagomedov started off better, landing a knee that momentarily knocked out Mitchell in the first round. The American admitted he didn't remember much of the opening round. However, from the second round onward, Bryce managed to impose his ground game, securing takedowns, positional control, and submission attempts until the end of the fight.
