Caio Borralho, apparently, was not impressed with the performance of Ridder's Reinier No. UFC Abu Dhabi. In a comment on 'X' (formerly Twitter), Borralho explained directly what his strategy would be to knock out De Ridder. According to the 'nerd', he would simply use the jab, defend takedowns, and punish the legs to work his way into the right opening and 'eliminate' the Dutchman.

Caio Borralho praises the jab as the most important strike in MMA
In the strategy he set up for a possible duel against Reinier DeRidder, Caio Borralho made it clear that the jab would be one of the fundamental pillars of his approach. However, the Brazilian emphasized that the jab is essential not only in this imaginary confrontation, but in any fight.
In a video posted by Maurício Ruffy on YouTube, Borralho highlighted the importance of the jab as a technical foundation in MMA. The octagon nerd criticized fighters who enter the ring seeking a knockout at any cost and stated that those who master the jab tend to excel in fights and demonstrate an above-average technical level.
"The jab, for me, is the most important strike in combat sports. You have to be a master of the jab. It's a strike I see few people using. At the national level, in the events I watch, guys just want to knock you out. Those who jab well always stand out. You look at them and think, 'This kid is different.'" he said. Caio Borralho.
True to the ideology that battles are won through strategy, Caio argues that a battle must be built with patience, comparing the process to telling a good story, which must begin at the beginning, with preparation and structure, before reaching the conclusion.
"It's normal to want to use your back hand, to want to throw a cross, to want to knock the guy out. You have to get that out of your head. Fighting is a construction. You're telling a story. And you don't start a story at the end, you start at the beginning," Borralho concluded.

Before thinking about a possible confrontation against Reinier DeRidder, Caio Borralho has more pressing commitments ahead. Recently, the Brazilian announced that was cast as an official replacement for the main event of the UFC 319, between Khamzat Shimaev e Dricus Du Plessis, valid for the middleweight belt (up to 83,9 kg).
