End of suspense! Mauricio Ruffy finally has his first fight against a ranked lightweight (up to 70,3 kg) scheduled. Promised that there would be a great fight next, the Fighting Nerds representative is preparing to face Benoit Saint-Denis, in Paris, France, on September 6. The information was revealed first-hand by reporter João Marcos, from Sexto Round.

In a video posted on social media, Ruffy indicated that the fight would be close to France, playing traditional French music while eating a croissant. It has not yet been announced whether the fight will be the main event, as his training partner Caio Borralho is the current protagonist alongside Nassourdine Imavov.

Currently out of the rankings, Ruffy is hoping to defeat the Frenchman and take another step towards the belt. After his triumph Ilia Topuria about Charles of the Bronx, the nerd promised to hunt down the Spanish-Georgian to avenge his compatriot and fulfill the fans' demands. Despite the movement, the champion has yet to address the division's prospect.
