After nearly three decades as the UFC's lead announcer, Bruce Buffer is already planning his retirement. At 68 years old and with hundreds of events under his belt, the Voice of the Octagon has been present at key moments in the UFC's history. However, according to the American, he already has a personal timetable in place to ideally end his career.

The statement was first made on the 'Clock N' Loaded' YouTube channel. According to Buffer, the main interest is to be present at the 400th edition of Ultimate.
"I intend to (be at UFC 400), that's a goal. I think I have another eight years, more or less. That's my plan," said the presenter.
Bruce Buffer confirms his plan to be around for UFC 400 – stating he has another eight years left in him before retirement:

Buffer participated in an Ultimate event on February 16, 1996, at UFC 8. On that occasion, athletes such as Don Frye, Ken shamrock and Gary Goodridge had their names announced by the then unknown announcer, younger brother of the also announcer Michael Buffer.
Since then, he has become one of the most recognizable figures in the sport, having been involved in famous incidents such as an elevator fight with former fighter Frank Trigg. He also suffered the misfortune of tearing the ACL in one of his knees while announcing Georges St-Pierre in the main event of UFC 129 in 2011.
