According to Marcelo Ribas, the athlete's father and coach, the impact may have revealed a more serious problem that had been ignored since last year. He stated that the plate had already dislodged during the victory over Luana pinheiro, in November 2023, and that since then Amanda had been facing a series of serious symptoms, such as fainting, severe pain and even seizures.
"Thank God we discovered what was causing the pain, fainting, and seizures since the fight with Luana (...). She had barely been able to train since the fight with Luana. We did MRIs, CT scans, and various tests, but no one could identify the source of the problem. We even thought it was psychological. But this blow was, in a way, a blessing, because it showed us what was wrong," Marcelo said in an interview with MMA Fighting.
