Prochazka surprises by heating up rivalry and detonating Rountree and Hill's performances at UFC Baku

In preparation for another crucial fight in his career, Jiri Prochazka is sharpening his arsenal to face Khalil Rountree at UFC 320 on October 4th. Determined to get another title shot, the Czech needs to get past the American to dream again of the throne that once belonged to him.

Despite expressing the samurai spirit, Prochazka shows a willingness to subtly needle his next rival. Commenting on Rountree's latest performance, the former champion condemned the athlete's behavior in his victory over Jamahal Hill and highlighted the veteran's lack of aggression.

"A very careful, patient performance. In my opinion, I don't like it. I don't like that performance because he gave Jamahal too many chances to get back into the fight, a chance to win the fight. He had too many chances to finish him decisively. So, that wasn't good on his part. He was very patient," Prochazka said during an interview with Ariel Helwani.

In the sequence, Jiri extended his provocations to Jamahal and indicated that the fighter must fulfill what is promised during his provocations before the fights.

“What surprised me was Jamahal Hill ’s performance . I thought that, after all the talk, he would put on a much better fight than he did. It was strange that Khalil let him recover and even survive the fight, and Jamahal showed nothing, and was still very self-assured after the fight. If you want to fight at the highest level, go out there and show your best, completely, without regrets,” he concluded.

Currently ranked second in the light heavyweight division (up to 93 kg), Prochazka is coming off a victory over Hill in his last performance. The fight against Rountree will take place on October 4th in Las Vegas, USA.
