Former UFC lightweight champion (up to 70,3 kg) and sports icon, Khabib Nurmagomedov returned to talk about the historic rivalry with Conor McGregor, one of the most intense and memorable in MMA history. In a public appearance, the Russian emphasized the importance of personal change and expressed his hope that the Irishman would transform his life for the better.
"Allah always gives us a chance to come back, no matter how bad things have been. I think he (Conor) has a chance, and he needs to change the way he's living. If he changes, he can change the lives of many people along with him. That's why I hope he changes himself," Khabib declared.

The rivalry between the two reached its peak in 2018, a year when McGregor was already a global star and Khabib emerged as the undefeated lightweight champion. The exchange of provocations on social media, including personal attacks and insults to religion and nationality, took a dramatic turn at UFC 223 in New York, when Conor stormed backstage and attacked the bus carrying Khabib, injuring other fighters.
In the confrontation inside the octagon, Khabib confirmed his dominance with a rear naked choke in the fourth round and consolidated his supremacy in what was the best-selling event in UFC history, with around 2,5 million pay-per-views sold.
Despite retiring in 2020, with a perfect record of 29 wins and no losses, the rivalry remains alive in the provocations between the two and in the heated discussions between fans.
