A period of inactivity may have turned Caio Borralho into one of the most dangerous fighters in the UFC middleweight division (up to 83,9 kg). 'The Nerd', who faces Nassourdine Imavov at UFC Paris on September 6th, had plenty of time to study his own game and improve his strengths before returning to action. At least that's what his teammate, Jean Silva , argues.

During an appearance on the 'MMA Hoje' podcast, Jean stated that Caio Borralho transforms when he has a fight scheduled. According to 'Lord', his training partner stands out for his meticulous study of opponents and his ability to create detailed strategies. With enough time to prepare, he becomes an even more dangerous rival.

“I’m the guy who studies fighting the most in the gym… But when Caio has a fight, it’s a different story. So, if you give a guy like that a deadline to train… screwed! Caio chews everything up. I see him making plans… Brother, Imavov has to be ‘fully ready’,” said Jean Silva.

For Jean, the fact that Borralho hasn't fought for a year increases the threat he poses to Imavov even further. In the Lord's view, high-level training routines typically don't allow for major adjustments between fights.

However, with Borralho, the situation was different. The 'Nerd' had a whole year to analyze his previous performances, correct flaws, and improve his game.

"Think about it: you come out of a fight, take a month off... Then you book another fight. That's usually what happened to me: you don't have time to improve on what happened in the last camp, and you're already having to look at other things. So, Caio had a year where he studied every fight he had, and that's when he becomes dangerous... I can't speak for Caio's game, but what I can say is that he'll be different," concluded the Fighting Nerds representative.

Caio Borralho as a reserve at UFC 319

Despite being scheduled for the main event of UFC Paris , Borralho may have his return brought forward. 'The Nerd' has been designated as a reserve for the main event of UFC 319, between Khamzat Chimaev and Dricus Du Plessis , scheduled for August 16th in Chicago, for the division title.
