Anderson Silva joins Khamzat Chimaev in preparation for title fight at UFC 319

Khamzat Shimaev gained a luxury reinforcement in the final stretch of preparation for the middleweight belt dispute (up to 83,9 kg), against the champion Dricus du Plessis, on August 19th. With just over a week to go until the event, the title challenger received a visit at the gym from none other than Anderson Silva, the biggest name in the history of the category.

The meeting was recorded on the social media of Brazilian Alan Finfou, Chimaev's coach, who highlighted the importance of 'Spider's' presence at the decisive moment of preparation.

"Today, history and the present met on the same mat. We had the honor of welcoming the living legend of world MMA, Anderson 'The Spider' Silva, to the preparation camp for Khamzat Shimaev for the UFC title fight on August 16th. Anderson, who reigned supreme as champion for many years, brought not only his presence but also the inspiration and energy that shape champions. Seeing my student have the opportunity to learn and be blessed by this legend, on the eve of realizing a great dream, is a moment we will cherish forever. Unlimited gratitude,” wrote Finfou.
