Current middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg) and responsible for an impressive sequence of victories in the Ultimate, Dricus Du Plessis prepares for his third title defense. "If Dricus can come out, put on a good performance, and beat Chimaev, I think he'll be in contention for Islam and Ilia. He'll be in contention for the top three, and that pound-for-pound top three is well within Dricus' reach right now," Sonnen said on the Good Guy/Bad Guy show.
If this fact comes to fruition and journalists responsible for compiling the UFC pound-for-pound rankings decide to place Du Plessis among the top three, the South African would steal Du Plessis' spot.
