Currently ranked eighth in the strawweight rankings (up to 52,1 kg), Iasmin Lucindo stepped into the octagon determined to defend her ranking position against the veteran Angela Hill. Without hesitating to exchange strikes on the feet with the Muay Thai specialist, the Brazilian returned to winning ways and triumphed by unanimous decision after a lively fight against the 12th division fighter.
At just 23 years old, Lucindo managed to neutralize the veteran and showed great progress in her stand-up department. Willing to invest in boxing, the fighter troubled her opponent with hard-hitting strikes and in the final round managed to impose herself with a strong grappling style, minimizing risks after dominating the opening rounds.

Iasmin Lucindo dominates and returns to winning ways
Angela Hill The fight began by refusing to touch gloves with Iasmin. The Brazilian kept pace with the veteran, boxing, and quickly seeking grappling to neutralize her opponent. Less than a minute in, the Brazilian was already on her opponent's back, trying to evolve her position. Despite her attempts, the American proved her takedown defenses were up to par and managed to return the fight to the center of the octagon, relying on her Muay Thai skills. In a frank exchange of blows, the fighters remained at close range, relying on power. Successful with her attacks, Lucindo maintained crosses and straights, troubling the veteran, who sought to return the blow in kind. In the final minute, Hill attempted a surprise takedown, but was quickly reversed by the Brazilian, who put her back against the fence. At the last second, Iasmin defended a rear-naked choke attempt and put Hill on the ground with a judo takedown.
In the second round, the fighters began with a frank exchange and landed solid strikes at close range. While attempting a takedown to defuse a tense moment, Iasmin exposed her neck but successfully defended Hill's guillotine attempt. After eating blows, Hill resorted to using the fence, but didn't hold Lucindo there for long. Sharp in her striking, Iasmin continued to corner the veteran and relied on boxing to get to her opponent's face, who, when successful, sought the fence to minimize the Brazilian's aggression. In the final minute of the second round, Iasmin managed to get on Angela's back and dominated her opponent until the bell.
In the last round, Iasmin bet on grappling and got the takedown. Angela Hill, already reaching the 100kg position with over three minutes to go. Staying active with strikes from above, the Brazilian prevented her opponent from seeking a sweep to reverse the position. Warned by the referee to stay active, Lucindo moved and ended the round with violent strikes on her opponent.

Like his opponent, Rodriguez had also been outclassed by Melk Costa when he last fought. Considered the UFC's 'promise breaker,' the American suffered his second consecutive loss and lost his chance to enter the top 15 in his next appearance.
