After an underwhelming UFC debut, Marcus Buchecha will have a lot of help in his quest for a comeback. Considered by many to be the greatest winner in the history of jiu-jitsu, the gentle art specialist arrived in the Ultimate with star status, but failed to perform as expected and ended up being surpassed by Martin Buday.

Now, for his return, the black belt will have Marcos Parrumpa as his main coach. The coach revealed the news via Instagram stories. According to Parrumpa, the two have aligned strategies and agreed to work together to ensure the athlete shows significant progress in his next match. Confident in his protégé's potential, the coach emphasized that the focus now is on reaching the highest level of MMA.

"After his UFC fight, we talked, agreed on the details, and now I'll be his head coach. From now on, we're together, and we'll do everything possible to ensure that by his next fight, he's already showing significant progress, so we can win and put him where he deserves to be, at the highest level of MMA. He has the potential, willpower, and skill to do it. Now we just have to do our job and move forward; going backward is no use," said Marcos Parrumpa.

Considered one of the best coaches in modern MMA, Marcos Parrumpa is the mind behind big names in the UFC, such as Alexandre pantoja, Arman Tsarukyan e Renato Moicano. In addition to Buchecha, the coach is also responsible for the transition of the multiple world jiu-jitsu champion Bia Mosque for MMA.

The 13 jiu-jitsu world titles were not enough for Marcus Buchecha was successful in his first fight in the Ultimate. The heavyweight was unable to impose his game and ended up defeated by Martin Buday by unanimous decision of the judges in the UFC Abu Dhabi.

With his debut loss, Buchecha reached a professional MMA record of five wins and two losses. On the other hand, Buday earned his seventh victory in eight fights in the organization, but even so, did not have his contract renewed with the event.
