Former bantamweight champion (up to 61,2 kg) and one of the most popular personalities in the UFC today, Sean O'Malley did not remain silent in the face of criticism directed at Charles of the Bronx. During a guest appearance on his official YouTube channel, the American spoke out after his co-host showed support against the Brazilian by stating that he 'would like to see him lose'.
Visibly bothered by the comment, O'Malley reacted quickly in defense of the former lightweight champion (up to 70,3 kg).

“How can you not like Charles? I understand that maybe you don't like 'Sugar' Sean… But how is it possible not to like Charles Oliveira? I really don't understand,” the fighter said.
Charles of the Bronx is one of the most charismatic and respected names in world MMA, known for both his aggressive, finishing style and his humility outside the octagon. A native of Guarujá, São Paulo, the Chute Boxe/Diego Lima athlete has a record of 34 wins and 11 losses, holding the record for most submissions in UFC history.
The São Paulo native's return to the octagon already has a set date: Charles will headline the main event of UFC Rio, scheduled for October 11th at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro. He faces Raphael Fiziev.
This will be the first time Charles has fought in Brazil since March 2020, when he submitted Kevin Lee in Brasília, in an event held behind closed doors due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The fight against Fiziev also marks the Brazilian's return after a tough knockout loss to Ilia Topuria, in June, in the belt dispute at UFC 317.
