Caio Borralho is aware that he may have the opportunity of his dreams next Saturday (16). The representative of Fighting Nerds is scheduled as a reserve of the main fight of UFC 319, between Dricus Du Plessis e Khamzat Shimaev, which makes you wonder if everything is okay with the night's protagonists.
In an interview with MMA Fighting, Caio Borralho expressed distrust regarding the organization's decision to name him as a reserve fighter for UFC 319. According to Nerd, he had initially been informed that there would be no backup for the main event, but suddenly the situation changed.
"They didn't say who might be hurt, whether it's Khamzat or Dricus, or what the problem was. But I'm suspicious because they said before there wouldn't be any backup, and then out of nowhere, one showed up. Something might be going on, but I don't know what it is," Caio said.
The Fighting Nerds representative also assessed the chances of either fighter withdrawing from the fight. He believes Chimaev would be the most likely to withdraw, given his history of injuries caused by the intense training schedule.
"Logically speaking, Chimaev is more likely to give up because he's done it a few times before. We know he trains like crazy, so he's always injured. But I recently heard that he's fine, healthy, and without any serious injuries. I don't know how Dricus is doing. He doesn't post much on social media," Borralho continued.

Another point that worries Borralho is the weight of Khamzat ShimaevThe Brazilian commented that he saw an image in which the Swede appeared to be very large, which could indicate difficulties in making the weight limit. Even so, Borralho emphasized that he will remain focused exclusively on his own fight, maintaining his concentration until the moment he leaves the hotel for the arena.
"What worries me about Chimaev is his weight. I saw a picture and he looks huge, man. We know he sometimes struggles to make weight. We'll see, man. I'll keep to myself until I leave the hotel for the arena. Until then, I'm 100% focused on this fight," concluded the Nerd.
