Confident and scheduled to headline the Contender Series, Neemias Santana let his emotions get the better of him and was severely damaged by his actions during the match. Responsible for headbutting his opponent Ilian Bouafia, the Brazilian was not only penalized with a point loss, but also failed to triumph and perhaps have the opportunity to be signed by Dana White at the end of the event.

Defeated by unanimous decision, Santana was considered the underdog for the match, but he managed to show some promising moments before the fateful headbutt against his rival.
