Even in the final stretch of preparation for his next title fight in the Ultimate, Alex Poatán has once again attracted attention outside the octagon. The former light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg) arrived in Chicago, United States, to closely follow the UFC 319, which takes place this Saturday (16) and will have as its main attraction the dispute for the middleweight title (up to 83,9 kg) between Dricus Du Plessis e Khamzat Shimaev.

The Brazilian surprised with another international trip in the middle of training for the rematch against Magomed Ankalayev, scheduled for October 4th, in UFC 320, in Las Vegas.
Poatan's presence at the event reignites rumors about possible future duels with the winner of the main fight of the UFC 319 – especially since both Chimaev and Du Plessis have exchanged public provocations with the Brazilian in the past.
Alex Poatan's Travels
Recently, Poatan was in Brazil for a training season at the Fighting Nerds gym, where he sparred with names like Michal Oleksiejczuk, in addition to traveling to Uruguay, where he recorded the feature film Onslaught, playing the villain 'The Butcher'.
Before heading to the United States, the fighter also made a quick stop in Argentina, where he stayed for just two days. His constant travel, although criticized by some in the MMA community, is downplayed by the champion himself.
Alex says that all movements are planned in advance and that his team accompanies him to ensure that the focus on training and the quality of preparation are maintained, even outside his usual base.
