Tension has already taken over the week of UFC 319. In the official face-off between the event's protagonists at the press conference, held this Thursday (14), Khamzat Shimaev he didn't hold back and launched a provocation at Dricus du Plessis. In an audio released by the organization, the Chechen threatened the middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg) in reference to the time he will have at the top of the world.
"Now you know what's going to happen to you. You won't hold this belt for long, brother. You only have two days left with this belt. Just two days," Chimaev said.

Undefeated in professional MMA with a record of 14 wins and no losses, Chimaev endured a turbulent journey to reach the title fight. Among the obstacles, he faced visa issues, fight cancellations, and even complications caused by COVID-19. Now, the 'Wolf' finally has the chance to crown his journey with the world title.
On the other side of the octagon will be Dricus du Plessis, the first South African to win a belt in UFC history. Champion since 2024, the fighter has successfully defended the title on two occasions, including victories over the likes of Israel adesanya e Sean Strickland.
