The Mexican stood out in the first five minutes of the fight with efficient movement and well-placed boxing. She frustrated the Brazilian's approach with precise jabs and straights, while Jéssica tried to close the distance and be more aggressive with crosses. Despite landing good punches, Bate-Estaca ended the first round clearly at a disadvantage.
Determined to change the course of the fight in the second round, Jéssica forced her opponent to retreat but ended up being taken down by the Mexican. Lupita quickly transitioned to the mount and managed to control the former champion for a few moments. Bate-Estaca still landed strikes to the waistline, but was unable to win the round.
The final round brought the Brazilian's best moments in the fight. Aware of the need to make a good impression on the judges, Jéssica cornered her opponent against the fence and, despite absorbing quick and precise punches, clearly inflicted more damage with strong crosses, in addition to splitting open her opponent's left eyebrow. Intimidated, the Mexican moved around a lot and tried to avoid further problems.
At the end of the 15 minutes of combat, Lupita Godinez was declared the winner by unanimous decision, with all judges scoring 29 to 28 in her favor.
