Michael Page He lived up to his reputation as a showman and refined striker at UFC 319, held this Saturday (16), in Chicago (USA). In the opening of the main card, the Briton shone against the veteran Jared Cannonier and achieved a dominant victory by unanimous decision, in a duel valid for the middleweight division (up to 83,9 kg).
With the result, Page notched his third victory in four UFC appearances and extended his professional record to 24 wins and just three losses. The performance confirms MVP as a name to watch closely at the top of the division.

Meanwhile, Cannonier, at 41, suffered another setback and saw his path to the middleweight elite increasingly narrow. Despite his attempts to rally in the final moments, the American couldn't keep up with the Brit's unpredictable pace and fluidity.
From the opening seconds, MVP imposed his unmistakable style: low hands, disconcerting lateral movement, and constant provocation. In the opening round, he landed a clean right hand that sent Cannonier to the ground, landing in a sitting position. With his characteristic coolness, the Englishman mocked, signaling for his opponent to calm down, before resuming the fight with absolute control.
In the second round, Page literally danced around the octagon. With complete control of the distance, he used his graceful movement to frustrate the American and land targeted strikes, including a precise hook that rocked his opponent. Even with the advantage, the Brit preferred to maintain a measured pace and continue playing around, rather than seeking the knockout.
Cannonier managed a takedown at the end of the second round, but did little on the ground. In the third, Page's imbalance allowed the American to land on top and get into mount. He attempted an armbar, but MVP quickly defended and regained control of the fight on the feet, sealing the victory without any major scares.
