Alex Poatán will be a new version in his rematch against Magomed Ankalayev No. UFC 320, scheduled for October 4th. The Brazilian, who was defeated by the Russian in UFC 313, now has the chance to regain the light heavyweight belt (up to 93kg) and, it seems, will enter the octagon heavier.
In a video posted by influencer Nina Drama, Poatan appeared weighing 109,9 kg, almost 17 kg over the light heavyweight limit. According to the influencer, even with the fight just a few weeks away, the former champion is at a heavyweight weight (up to 120,2 kg).

In the first duel against Ankalaev, Alex Poatán He managed to defend some of the Russian's takedown attempts, but he couldn't break free from the clinch and ended up losing by unanimous decision. The decision to go heavier in the rematch may have been related to the idea of becoming stronger and avoiding his rival's dominance in the grappling match.
Another possible reason for the weight gain is the definitive move to the heavyweight division. Poatan, who debuted in the UFC as a middleweight, had already flirted several times with the idea of moving up a category again and trying for the unprecedented triple championship.
