Set for his long-awaited debut in the Ultimate, Aaron Pico put on the gloves for the first time in UFC 319. Despite being considered the favorite to face the undefeated Lerone murphy in the featherweight division (up to 65.7 kg), the American ended up not being able to live up to his status and was brutally knocked out by his rival in the octagon.

Old acquaintance from Pico, Daniel Cormier who was commentating on the duel in the front row, did not hide his concern at watching his compatriot being frighteningly eliminated in the penultimate fight of the event held in Chicago (USA).

"I've known Aaron Pico since he was a little kid. That was a heavy knockout. It's very concerning for Aaron. He's been knocked out a lot of times, and when he gets knocked out, it's always devastating," Cormier said during live commentary on UFC 319.

At 27, the former Bellator fighter has accumulated four knockout losses in his career. Known for his aggressive fighting style, Pico ended up on the receiving end of a hard counter-blow via spinning elbow and was knocked to the canvas just as the limb connected with his head.

Despite the unfortunate incident, the fighter has already spoken out on social media and avoided dramatizing the situation. According to Aaron, his health is stable and his goal is to return to winning ways in his next UFC appearance.
