UFC Rio: Former champion, Deiveson Figueiredo has a fight confirmed at an event in the Marvelous City

Charles of the Bronx won't be the only former champion in action in the UFC Rio Octagon. Former flyweight titleholder (up to 56,7 kg), Deiveson Figueiredo faces Montel Jackson in a bantamweight bout (up to 61,2 kg) at the event on October 11th, at Farmasi Arena, in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro. The fight was initially reported by ESPN Brasil.

Deiveson Figueiredo to the octagon after the knee injury suffered in the loss to Cory Sandhagen, in the main fight of the UFC Des Moines, in May of this year. The Pará native returns to Rio de Janeiro, the city where he debuted in the Ultimate, in 2017, with a victory over Marco Beltrán, and also where he ended up being dethroned by Brandon MorenoIn 2023.

At 37 years old, Deiveson currently ranks sixth in the bantamweight rankings. The 'God of War' is coming off consecutive losses to Petr yan e Cory Sandhagen.

Brazilian's opponent at UFC Rio, Montel Jackson is ranked 15th. The 33-year-old American is riding a six-game winning streak, the last of which was over Daniel Marcos, in May, and has not lost since July 2020.

With Deiveson Figueiredo e Montel Jackson On the card, UFC Rio takes place on October 11th at Farmasi Arena, in the west zone of the Marvelous City. In the main fight of the event, Charles of the Bronx faces Raphael Fiziev.
