The atmosphere has already started to heat up even before UFC Shanghai. Protagonist of the main fight of this Saturday's event (23), Johnny Walker had the first look at Mingyang Zhang on the morning of this Tuesday (19), in a promotional event held at the postcard The bund, in the center of the Chinese metropolis. The Brazilian was undeterred and stood face-to-face with his opponent, in a provocative mood.
The fight marks the return of Walker, who hasn't won in over two years and is looking to revive his career after a losing streak. At 33, the Brazilian is coming off consecutive losses to Magomed Ankalayev and most recently Volkan oezdemir, in June of last year. The last victory was in May 2023, over Anthony Smith.

Opponent of Johnny Walker, Mingyang Zhang is headlining a UFC event for the first time. Fighting at home, the 27-year-old Chinese fighter is undefeated in the UFC, with three knockouts in three fights. Overall, he has a 12-fight unbeaten streak, with 12 first-round victories.
With Johnny Walker e Mingyang Zhang in the main fight, UFC Shanghai takes place in the early hours of August 23, from 04 pm (Brasília time). In addition to Walker, the middleweight (up to 83,9 kg) Michael Pereira represents Brazil in a duel with the North American Kyle Daukaus on the preliminary card.
