Johnny Walker believes that his new title race begins at UFC Shanghai, scheduled for next Saturday (23). In an interview with UFC Brazil, Walker revealed that, if he wins, he intends to fight again in 2025, preferably against a top-5 opponent. The fighter believes that two or three wins will be enough to secure a title shot.
"I want to fight one more time this year, if I can. Against someone in the Top 5... I'll finish two fights, show that I'm here to get the title shot again. I believe that with two or three wins at most, I can already talk about the belt. I've already gotten close to the belt three times. I'll go one more time, and this time, it will work," he said. Signed through the Contender Series, the Brazilian impressed upon his arrival in the UFC, he won three consecutive knockout victories before suffering his first loss in the organization. He currently has two knockout losses in his last three appearances, in addition to one no-contest.
