A real surprise shook the boxing world this Wednesday (20). Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis will face off in a first-ever boxing match. The bout, which will be held in an exhibition format, is scheduled for November 14, 2025, at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, USA, and will be broadcast live globally on Netflix.
The announcement took fans and experts by surprise, mainly because of the contrast between the two athletes. Jake Paul, a rising digital influencer and boxer, has been operating in the cruiserweight division, weighing in at close to 200 pounds (about 90,7 kg).

Gervonta Davis, a multiple champion and considered one of the biggest stars in world boxing, traditionally competes at 61,2 kg, with an estimated difference of up to 30 kg between the two.
Despite the weight disparity, the fight will have 10 rounds of three minutes each, without the use of head protection and with professional gloves, following the standard of professional fights, although without official status for the rankings.
Jake Paul had another alternative…
The event was made possible after the failure of negotiations between Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua, who failed to reach a contractual agreement. With Davis available and willing to expand his commercial reach, the deal was quickly finalized with the approval of the athletic commissions.
Even though it's an exhibition bout, it promises to be a buzz on social media and the streaming market, as it brings together two media figures with strong popular appeal. It's not yet known whether there will be a weight limit agreed upon between the parties or specific clauses in the contract. Technical details are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks, during the event's official press conference.
