UFC prodigy Raul Rosas Jr. makes a major leap and faces a ranked veteran in September

Raúl Rosas Jr.. will face the biggest challenge of his short but promising career in the UFC. The Mexican phenomenon and record holder as the youngest fighter to debut and win in the Octagon, the bantamweight (up to 61,2 kg) will face the experienced Rob font on the card UFC Night 3, scheduled for September 13, in San Antonio (USA). The information was confirmed by the organization last Wednesday (20).

Professional since the age of 17 and discovered by Contender Series, Raúl Rosas Jr.. comes to the fight on the back of four consecutive victories, having recovered from the only setback suffered so far, against Christian rodriguez, in 2023. In its last presentation, in March, it surpassed Vince Morales and asked for a ranked opponent to accelerate the climb to the top of the division.

A veteran and current member of the top 15 bantamweight division, Font is enjoying a good moment and has had recent triumphs over Jean Matsumoto e Kyler Phillips. Throughout his career, the American has faced off against three former UFC champions, as well as several elite names in the category, and now he will face the challenge of stopping the young Mexican's meteoric rise.

O UFC Night 3 will feature as its main attraction a five-round featherweight fight between Diego lopes e Jean Silva. In addition to the duo, the event also features the presence of other Brazilians: Amanda lemos, Alexander Costa, Rodrigo Sezinando, Netto BJJ and the young debutant Alice Pereira.

Celebrating Mexican Independence, UFC Noche is becoming a tradition

Created to honor Mexico's Independence, celebrated on September 16, the UFC Night became a fixed date on the Ultimate calendar. In 2023, the debut had Alexa grasso x Valentina Shevchenko 2 for the flyweight belt, and ended in a draw, with the Mexican retaining the title. In 2024, the second edition took place at the luxurious 'Esfera' in Las Vegas, with Merab Dvalishvili dethroning Sean O'Malley and winning the bantamweight belt in the main event — and Shevchenko regaining the flyweight title in the co-main event.
