Rafael Fiziev names Brazilian as one of those responsible for the most powerful punch he ever received: 'I saw stars'

Representative of the UFC's lightweight elite (up to 70,3kg), Raphael Fiziev has already faced several battles in his MMA career. A member of the UFC since 2019, the fighter opened up by commenting on the most powerful opponents he has faced. A stand-up specialist, the Kazakh is preparing to face Charles of the Bronx, on October 11, in Rio de Janeiro.

“The strongest is (Justin) Gaethje, because he beat my face and Rafael dos Anjos, his punch is strong. I remember he was pushing me and I remember seeing stars,” Fiziev said in an interview with Home of Fight.

Twice defeated by Gaethje, Fiziev fought wars against the American, and on both occasions, the fight was decided by the judges. However, when scheduled to face Dos Anjos, the Kazakh managed to knock out the former lightweight champion in the fifth round, after a close fight in Las Vegas in 2022.

In preparation for his next fight, the current 10th ranked player in the category will star in UFC Rio alongside Charles of the Bronx, on October 11th. Confident, Rafael is looking for his second consecutive victory in the organization and the opportunity to make a big leap in the lightweight division.
