Officially retired from MMA and surrounded by controversy after avoiding Tom aspinall, Jon Jones has made several statements about his interest in appearing at the UFC event at the White House in July of next year. On the other hand, Dana White has stated on several occasions his lack of confidence in the former champion appearing at the card. In this context, Brendan Schaub believes that the Ultimate CEO's refusal is just a strategy.

Schaub was a finalist on The Ultimate Fighter 10 and competed in the UFC between 2009 and 2014. Today, the American works as a sports commentator. According to him, White has been using media outlets as a way to keep Jones focused on a return to the sport.
"With Dana, you never say never. I think this is Dana's way of getting through to the media, challenging Jon, like, 'I bet you can't do it.' Jon says, 'You think I can't do it?' Dana says, 'No way, actually, I'll bet you a billion to one, man.' This will keep Jon focused and out of trouble," the former fighter said in an edition of the podcast 'Thicc Boy', last Wednesday (20).

According to the former athlete, White's decision could change completely if Bones shows himself to be in good physical and mental condition in the months leading up to the pay-per-view.
"If the Jon Jones "If he's healthy, back in the testing pool, ready to fight, no problem, when they get the White House card, I guarantee he'll be there. The way to get Jon to do something is to tell him he can't, and that's what Dana is doing. It's brilliant," he concluded.
