Even though I retired a few years ago, Daniel Cormier is one of the most recognized figures in the MMA world thanks to his work both inside and outside the world's most famous octagon. In addition to having reigned at both the light heavyweight (up to 93 kg) and heavyweight (up to 120,2 kg) divisions, the American is also a commentator for the Ultimate Fighter. Despite all this, he recently acknowledged that he doesn't receive any special treatment from the company where he made his name.

Remembering the fight between Jon Jones e Stipe Miocic, the last of both their careers, DC stated that he was not spared by the organization's team in the promotional videos for the duel, valid for the company's heavyweight belt (up to 120,2 kg).
“The UFC doesn't protect you if you lose. That's why, when Jon and Stipe fought, I thought: did I win any fight? I was getting beaten all the time,” said the former fighter in an interview with the podcast 'Club Shay Shay' last Wednesday (20).

One of the best fighters in history, DC faced Jones twice, both times with the light heavyweight title (up to 93 kg) on the line. He lost the first fight by unanimous decision in January 2015. They met again more than two years later, and Bones once again prevailed, this time by knockout in the third round. However, the fight was changed to a no contest after Jones failed a drug test.
Years later, Cormier and Miocic engaged in an intense trilogy in the heavyweight division (up to 120,2 kg). DC won the first fight by knockout in the first round and became a double champion. However, he was defeated in the following two duels, by technical knockout and unanimous decision, respectively. After his second loss to Stipe, he decided to hang up his gloves and dedicate his efforts to working as a commentator and trainer. wrestling.
