Brazil will wake up early this Saturday (23) with a complicated mission in UFC Shanghai. After almost six years without events in China, Ultimate returns to the country with Johnny Walker in the main event. And the responsibility on the shoulders of the Rio de Janeiro light heavyweight (up to 93 kg) goes far beyond the individual result.

At 33 years old, the Rio native hasn't won in over two years. His last victory was against Anthony Smith, in May 2023. Since then, there have been three frustrating results, including a brutal knockout suffered against Magomed Ankalayev.

In addition to pursuing his own rehabilitation, Johnny is trying to put an end to Brazil's uncomfortable record in UFC main event fights in 2025: so far, none of the nine Brazilian athletes scheduled for a main event have won this year. The list includes names like Charles of the Bronx, Alex Poatán e Carlos Prates.

In addition to Walker, Michael Pereira will be the other Brazilian in action in UFC Shanghai. The 'Flying Paraense' enters the octagon still in the preliminary card, against Kyle Daukaus, who returns to the organization after three years away. The American was drafted in at the last minute to replace his injured compatriot Marco Túlio.
