If the situation of Michael Pereira it was already complicated before UFC Shanghai, after the event held last Saturday (23) it got worse. The Brazilian, who had suffered two consecutive defeats, entered the octagon with the mission of returning to the path of victories, but ended up knocked out in just 43 seconds, surprising even his tormentor.
In an interview with UFC News, Kyle Daukaus explained that, even with a well-structured fight plan, he expected the victory over Pereira to happen only in the following rounds.

"With the game plan we put together, that was a possibility. I thought it would happen more toward the later rounds, in the second or third. I didn't think it would happen so soon, but we don't get paid by the hour there," Daukaus explained.
The victory was emotional for Daukaus, who returned to the UFC for a second stint. He had left the organization in 2022 after two consecutive losses. The American also revealed that he didn't let his previous release from the UFC affect his career and decided to work hard to return to the organization.
"When I was first released by the UFC, I didn't let it discourage me or determine my career. I told myself I would work to get back to the UFC or something else, but I would get back to the top," said the American.
