Charles of the Bronx left many fans with reservations about accepting to face Raphael Fiziev in the main event of UFC Rio, shortly after being brutally knocked out by Ilia Topuria No. UFC 317. Despite the fans' caution, Marcos 'Parrumpinha', coach of American Top Team, believes that, with the right strategy, the Brazilian can have a calm night on the Rio card.
In an interview with 'PVT', Parrumpinha highlighted that Charles of the Bronx has a good chance against Fiziev due to the Kyrgyz's limited ground game. According to the coach, the Brazilian only needs to land a takedown to have a good chance of finishing quickly.

"I think Charles has what it takes to win because, bro, if you watch Fiziev's fight against Gaethje... man, Fiziev doesn't know anything about the ground game. And for a guy as skilled as Charles, he only needs a takedown. If he can get him down in half a round, I think he'll finish him," said Parrumpinha.
Although he recognizes Fiziev's skills in defending takedowns, Parrumpa reinforced that Charles does not necessarily need to take the takedown to gain an advantage, and can even take the back, as already done against Dustin poirier. However, he warned that it would be a mistake to exchange blows with his rival while standing.
“I see him having the possibility of taking the fight to the ground. And he doesn't need to take it down, no, he can go straight to the back, like he did with Dustin poirier"Now... I saw an interview where he said, 'No, Fiziev is a striker, but I also have a heavy hand.' I think it would be a mistake if he goes in to exchange blows. He has to follow the Dagestan strategy," the coach concluded.
