The Brazilian also clarified that his trip to Oklahoma wasn't specifically aimed at preparing for the fight. According to him, the trip served to learn wrestling from scratch and evolve as an athlete, as he considers his ground game and submissions recognized within the UFC.

"I'm only seeing this comment (about the bet) now because you're pointing it out to me. Cool. Leave it alone, man. I didn't go to Oklahoma to learn takedowns or anything specific for this fight. I went there to evolve, to learn real wrestling. I didn't go there to learn takedowns for MMA or anything like that. In all my fights, people see that I have a good ground game and I know how to submit," concluded the jiu-jitsu black belt.
