When the fight between the Brazilians was announced, 'El Brabo' announced on social media that he was traveling to Oklahoma to improve his takedown game. Upon hearing the news, the 'Nerd' took the opportunity to taunt his rival and suggest a very specific bet for the fight.

In an interview with MMA Fighting, Diego lopes took the bet in stride and stated that he was not even aware of the proposal. In an ironic tone, he revealed that he was not interested in the money Jean Silva and who prefers to leave him with his bag, insinuating that his opponent might need it.

"I didn't even see that. I'm only seeing this message two months later. Brother, leave him with his money. I don't want to make him lose money. Leave him with the money, because I think he's going to need it, right?" he commented. Diego lopes laughing.
The Brazilian also clarified that his trip to Oklahoma wasn't specifically aimed at preparing for the fight. According to him, the trip served to learn wrestling from scratch and evolve as an athlete, as he considers his ground game and submissions recognized within the UFC.
"I'm only seeing this comment (about the bet) now because you're pointing it out to me. Cool. Leave it alone, man. I didn't go to Oklahoma to learn takedowns or anything specific for this fight. I went there to evolve, to learn real wrestling. I didn't go there to learn takedowns for MMA or anything like that. In all my fights, people see that I have a good ground game and I know how to submit," concluded the jiu-jitsu black belt.
UFC Noche celebrates Mexican independence
