Khalil Rountree has extra motivation to overcome Jiri Procházka at UFC 320, scheduled for October 4th. The event will be held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, the American's hometown, which gives even more energy to the 'War Horse' on his journey towards a light heavyweight title fight (up to 93kg).
In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Rountree explained that, after defeating Jamahal Hill , he spoke with the UFC to define his next steps. According to the light heavyweight, the idea for the fight against Procházka came from the organization itself, which believed it would be an exciting duel for the fans.

“Right after the Jamahal Hill fight , I spoke with the UFC about what was coming next. This was the fight they wanted to see and believed it would be an exciting matchup for the fans, and I totally agree,” said Rountree.
The fighter also emphasized the importance of returning to compete in his hometown after more than five years, highlighting the energy at T-Mobile Arena. Regarding his next challenge, he assured that he is fully prepared to face Procházka and pursue the belt.
“It also marks the opportunity to fight again in Las Vegas, in front of a crowd for the first time in over five years. This is a really important fight. It’s in Las Vegas, my home. The T-Mobile Arena has incredible energy. I need to create my path back to the title, and there are some very strong guys on that path. So, if the next step is to get past Procházka, I’m absolutely ready,” concluded Khalil Rountree.
In addition to the duel between Rountree and Procházka, UFC 320 will feature the light heavyweight title rematch between Alex Poatan and Magomed Ankalaev.
