“So I knew this was a possibility, you know what I'm saying? I definitely thought it was something that could happen and that it was justified. It's not something I'm going to complain about, but I'm not going to lie, I didn't think they were going to let me go, you know what I'm saying? I didn't think it was going to happen, but it did. This is the result of my own actions,” Battle told MMA Fighting.

Soon after being free to negotiate with other companies, Battle was approached by Dirty Boxing and managed to close a contract with a new company. The fighter debuts this Saturday (29) against Brazilian Derik de Freitas.

"And now, we're ready for the next step. I've been quiet. There are so many things I could have said this whole time. I haven't been posting or anything other than contributing to Dirty Boxing and other pages about (other) things, and one of the things I'm most excited about this opportunity is that it gives me the chance to let my actions speak for me. To show my remorse, to show that I'm better for my actions. One of my favorite things one of my coaches used to say was, 'I hear better with my eyes,' so I'm really looking forward to getting in there, making weight, kicking ass, and, you know, I don't have to say it. You guys can see it. So, that's what I'm looking forward to most from all of this," he concluded.
