UFC's newest signing, Manoel Manumito, thrilled Dana White with his great performance at Contender Series on Tuesday (26). In addition to being known for his high skill in stand-up fighting, the fighter also has the distinction of being the only athlete to have defeated Mauricio Ruffy in professional MMA.

Aware of the great narrative being created around his arrival in the UFC and being in the same division as his former victim, Manumito avoided provocations, but showed himself willing to grant the Fighting Nerds representative the opportunity for a rematch in the future.

Considered the favorite for his duel against Cristian Pérez, Manoel surprised by pulling off a thrilling comeback against the Mexican. Struggling to deal with his opponent's grappling, the Brazilian withstood the pressure in the early rounds and secured a crushing victory in the third round, securing his long-awaited UFC contract.

In 2019, the Brazilian recorded his first setback Mauricio Ruffy, now considered one of the top prospects in the lightweight division. At the time, Manumito turned in an electrifying fight and knocked out his compatriot at Standout Fighting Tournament 18, a feat that was once again remembered with the signing of his contract.
