Carlos Prates stirred up Brazilian fans this Wednesday (27). Speculated to be at UFC Rio, the São Paulo native published an enigmatic message on his social media, accompanied by a video with a New York atmosphere, which quickly raised speculation about his future in the Ultimate.
“See you soon, UFC,” Prates wrote on his official Instagram account.
See too
The detail was provided by the Frank Sinatra soundtrack, which evokes the atmosphere of New York and reinforces the interpretation that the fighter may be in negotiations for a spot in... UFC 322, scheduled for November, at the legendary Madison Square Garden.
The publication comes days after 'ESPN Brasil' published that Carlos Prates should not appear on the Rio card. There was speculation that the Brazilian could face Daniel Rodriguez, but the organization chose to follow another path.
While his absence from Rio may frustrate some fans, the anticipation of seeing him in action in New York is exciting. The athlete's momentum justifies his international prominence: on August 16th, at UFC 319 in Chicago, Carlos Prates knocked out Geoff neal with a spectacular spinning elbow in the final seconds of the first round. The outcome secured the Performance of the Night bonus.
