NT Team's young prospect debuts on the right foot and finishes off rival in the National Fight Championship

A hotbed of talent, Brazil continues to produce great names in the martial arts field. This time, it's time for Melque Trator, from Rio Grande do Norte, to put on his gloves for the first time, making his long-awaited amateur MMA debut. Representing NT Team, led by renowned coach Neto Tubarão, the 17-year-old, who competes in the up-to-77kg division, did not disappoint.

Scheduled to compete in the National Fight Championship, Melque faced Samuel Araújo in Ponta Negra, Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, and secured a lightning-fast victory in the first round, securing the first victory in his amateur MMA record. Assisted by Tubarão and his team, 'Trator' began the fight focusing on boxing and soon landed a powerful blow over his rival's guard.

Beyond his striking skills, the NT Team prospect demonstrated true MMA readiness. Losing his balance while exchanging kicks with his opponent, Melque seized the opportunity and capitalized on a crucial takedown to prevent Samuel from posing any threat. Now on top, in half guard, Trator calmly launched strikes at the waistline until he found the right moment to move to mount. In front of his corner, the newcomer managed to replicate his gym training and sink a katagatame, forcing his opponent to tap out.

Clearly emotional, Melque celebrated his first career triumph and raised his arm alongside his coaches. At 17, the NT Team representative now has a victory in his amateur MMA career.
